This is an experimental variant designed for with 3 or more players in a casual setting.
One player in the group is the Vandal, while the others are Technicians. The Technicians are trying to put on a great fireworks show as usual, while the Vandal is trying to mess things up just enough for some good fun, and not get arrested for their vandalism.
At the end of the game, if there were any misplays or critical discards, each player votes on a player to accuse of being the Vandal. The player accused by a plurality of votes is arrested, except if there's a tie for first, in which case no one is arrested.
The Vandal is trying to evade arrest while inducing other players to misplay cards or (to a lesser extent) discard critical cards -- the more the better! The technicians are trying to (successfully) play the most cards possible, while avoiding misplays and critical discards; failing to avoid these, they are trying to identify the vandal for arrest. Scoring happens in traditional Hanabi game terms, i.e. qualitatively.
